Our client in the logistics industry is looking for a highly experienced Instrumentation Technician to join their technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the calibration maintenance troubleshooting and continuous improvement of a wide range of process control and measurement instrumentation. The role ensures operational efficiency safety compliance and adherence to industry and quality standards across all instrumentation systems.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Calibrate maintain and service mechanical pneumatic chemical electrical and electronic process control and measurement instrumentation in accordance with approved procedures
Perform tests and evaluate results to identify faults inconsistencies and performance deviations
Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation and measurement system issues
Install repair overhaul and commission industrial instrumentation including:
Control valves
Transmitters
Radar and level instruments
Flow pressure temperature and level measurement systems
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on all instrumentation equipment and systems
Generate Instrument Deviation Reports (IDRs) for out-of-tolerance equipment and escalate issues appropriately
Develop maintain and implement Standard Service Procedures (SSPs) and related technical documentation
Maintain accurate calibration records test results and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Ensure laboratory and workshop equipment tools and supplies are maintained to required standards
Interpret calibration data and provide technical analysis of results
Produce sketches and redline drawings for system modifications and improvements
Support continuous improvement initiatives for instrumentation maintenance practices and procedures
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards

Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Technical Qualification in Instrumentation Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related field
Proven experience in instrumentation within mining industrial or process plant environments
Solid understanding of general and specialised maintenance practices and systems
Technical Requirements
Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
Strong computer literacy and ability to work with technical databases and systems
Basic mathematical competency including fractions decimals and unit conversions
