As Moderna continues its rapid global expansion the Moderna Enterprise Solution Hub in Warsaw (MESH) stands at the center of this growthbringing together Finance HR and Compliance talent into a high-impact global capability hub.
In this role you will contribute to the accuracy compliance and evolution of Modernas indirect tax processes across European and international markets.
You will operate at the intersection of tax finance and digital innovation with opportunities to engage with advanced tools and emerging technologies including Generative AI to continuously improve reporting and compliance processes.
Heres What Youll Do
On Operational Excellence:
Prepare VAT GST and CT reporting to ensure compliance across a group of European markets and additional international jurisdictions as needed
Support the preparation and filing of periodic VAT and other indirect tax returns (including sales listings Intrastat and SAF-T) using tax preparation tools
Help provide guidance to internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters ensuring transactions are recorded in compliance with local tax regulations
Conduct transaction-level checks to verify correct application of indirect tax rules
Build strong cross-functional relationships to support delivery of high-quality indirect tax advice compliance reviews and responses to inquiries
Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal controls over indirect tax processes
Perform VAT/GST/CT general ledger account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
Support day-to-day activities of the Indirect Tax team contributing to operational continuity and efficiency
Assist in the preparation of project presentations reports schedules and analytical outputs
Conduct research on indirect tax reporting obligations outside the United States ensuring up-to-date compliance practices
Keep stakeholders informed of tax updates and assess the implications of new or evolving laws and regulations
Participate in tax-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and scalability
On People and Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate closely with Indirect Tax team members and global leadership across regions
Engage with cross-functional teams to understand core business processes and ensure tax considerations are embedded effectively

Heres What Youll Need (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or related discipline
Interest in pursuing tax accreditation
1-2 years of experience in indirect taxes; experience in public accounting or the pharma/biotech industry is beneficial
Basic understanding of tax principles with a willingness to develop expertise in VAT/GST/CT
Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP is advantageous
Proactive work ethic ready to take initiative and deliver results
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively
Capability to work as part of a team across various functions
Fluency in English both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
