- Development of the end-to-end services and processes to give Amazon employees options for pay training and job choices
- Build the most extensive pay premium job training and career mobility options on earth
- Use modern technologies to solve complex problems at scale
- Deliver solutions that scale in volume and handle the complexity of diverse workflows and country specific rules/regulations.
- Own automation of business processes in a full stack mostly server-less environment using proven as well as evolving native AWS services and other technologies to create a friction free user experience.
- Solve the challenging problem of scaling these services to serve hundreds of thousands of Amazonians across the globe in real-time
- Be a technical innovator that is not afraid to challenge the norms and innovate.
- Execute against project plans and delivery commitments.
- Build highly available scalable and performant tier-one services to power responsive intuitive and sleek experiences for customers.
- Solve complex business and technical problems by diving deep collecting data to make well informed decisions and using sound judgement in the face of insufficient data.
- Work with the latest technologies to innovate on behalf of the employee.
A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer you will design develop and test Amazon-scale enterprise business systems serving hundreds of thousands associates worldwide. You will also continuously learn new technologies the latest industry techniques and gets to use the newest AWS addition you will get to develop new systems support robust business tools and integrate with other internal systems within Amazons world-class operations.
About the team
Workforce Solutions (WS) is a horizontal multi-discipline organization whose mission is to build the best people-forward technology to enable corporate recruitment for Amazon globally. We build the intelligent technology products Amazon uses to make the right hiring decisions every time while being more equitable and candidate-centric in the end-to-end experience. We accomplish this by using our ability in product and program management and design/research. Our portfolio of products is global (built mostly on native AWS) accounting for recruitment for all corporate roles. From the candidate-facing job site to ensuring the role is filled - we build the entire gamut. We value people-centric solutions and open exchange of ideas. The team has a clear product and service north star but remains flexible in the paths to achieve that goal.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company Amazons package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical dental vision prescription basic life & AD&D insurance) Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP) paid time off and other resources to improve health and well-being.
