Your Opportunity
The Welcome Home Support Coordinator at Rosny Park plays a key role in delivering the Welcome Home Program an exciting new early intervention and community development initiative supporting social and affordable housing tenants across Hobart. This role focuses on providing voluntary wraparound person-centred support to tenants during the pre and early stages of tenancy.
Working closely with the Welcome Home Housing Coordinator and broader housing services the role supports tenants to settle into their homes build capability and connect meaningfully with their community through practical assistance service linkages and trust-based relationships. This is an on-site position based in Hobart with outreach to the community with a strong focus on relational trauma-informed practice provision of flexible holistic support as the program evolves through a test-and-learn approach.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong trustbased relationships with prospective and new tenants providing respectful personled support that helps people feel confident and settled in their new tenancy.
- Work alongside tenants to understand what matters to them providing timelimited holistic support shaped by their strengths goals and choices in close collaboration with the Welcome Home Housing Coordinator and other enabling roles.
- Support tenants to settle confidently into their new home offering practical guidance and assistance early on so challenges can be worked through together if they arise.
- Support connections to community health and support services through warm referrals and local service partnerships.
- Provide practical capacity-building support that builds confidence with household routines property care and day-to-day living tailored to the tenants goals and needs.
- Work collaboratively with Welcome Home and housing colleagues including helping tenants prepare for inspections and understand their responsibilities in a clear supportive way when needed.
- Maintain clear and respectful records and documentation while actively contributing insights reflections and learning to support continuous improvement of this new and evolving program.
Requirements for Success
- Relevant qualifications (degree associate diploma or equivalent industry experience) with flexibility for strong candidates from community services or related backgrounds with substantial experience.
- A strong support-focused and trauma-informed approach when working with individuals and families experiencing vulnerability.
- Minimum 1 year experience in community services housing or a related support role.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport work collaboratively and support tenants to identify goals and individual support needs.
- Experience working with vulnerable communities including an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
- Confidence working within a multidisciplinary environment and partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in case note taking systems use and maintaining accurate and compliant records.
- Full Driver Licence with no restrictions.
Before starting work with us you will need to undertake a national police history check qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
