Job Summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant (Air & Space Ops) to serve as Duty Operations Controller at RAF Coningsby on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 05 October 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
To provide efficient and effective support & co-ordination of all Air Operations at RAF Coningsby and to the Typhoon Force worldwide.
- Oversee the safe and effective running of Air Operations and Flight Planning ensuring compliance with Sp&BM Orders the Defence Aerodrome Manual Typhoon Air Wing DDH Orders and Air Ops Order Book.
- Lead and supervise ASOS personnel on shift providing professional guidance welfare support and management of tasking.
- Support QRA activity including alternate airfield coordination liaison with TACON CRC and other agencies. Execution of QRA launch procedures accurate relaying of time critical information and timely compilation of post event reports.
- Assist the Supervisor of Flying (SOF) through the monitoring of daily flying activity alternate airfield booking monitoring of weather maintaining briefing slides and SAR status updating STARS and monitoring overdue aircraft.
- Process visiting system booking requests ensuring compliance with airfield ATC and VAHS constraints and verifying insurance/waiver requirements for civilian and overseas arrivals.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies and enact relevant contingency plans when required.
