Clinical Track Faculty (CT) or Tenure Track (TT) (Open Rank – Assistant, Associate, Professor)

Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus School of Dental Medicine welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for a .75 FTE Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon clinical track faculty (Open Rank) to work in theDepartment of Pediatric Dentistry at Childrens Hospital Colorado (CHCO) and the CU School of Dental Medicine. The successful candidate will be an outstanding clinician-educator with interest in and commitment to clinical care teaching and position reports to the department chair with their primarily location at CHCO.

The Pediatric Dentistry clinics provide routine dental check-ups and complex oral focus on providing care for all children including those with special needs by creating care plans that include special behavioral requirements as needed for each child. The Department of Pediatric Dentistry faculty dedicate their time exclusively to working with children teens and young adults with SHCN.

The pediatric dentistry program has three care sites including the hospitals newest multidisciplinary facilities the Health Pavilion Dental Center and North Campus Dental Center and Main Childrens Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Teaching

Primary teaching responsibilities for faculty in the clinical teaching track are focused on collaboratively building and/or maintaining programs within the SDM that provide quality service regarding local state national and international needs in alignment with the mission and strategic plan of the SDM.

Service

Service responsibilities include service to the assigned program the school and with other responsibilities as negotiated.

Research/Scholarship

Research /scholarship responsibilities offer an opportunity collaborate on or initiate programmatic inquiry and scholarship in alignment with SDM mission and vision.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Initial rank is based upon knowledge achievement and experience and with the opportunity for academic promotion based upon demonstrated ongoing excellence in education research clinical care and community service. Applicants must have a clinical scholarly and/or academic record consistent with each SDM Faculty appointment level in the School of Dental Medicine.

Rank at the time of appointment will be based on the candidatesdemonstratedcontributions and experience in teaching clinical research and/or service to the field. Assistant Professor:

A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent

Completion in CODA accredited Advanced Dental Residency Program

Eligibility for a Colorado dental license

At this rank applicants have some successful teaching experience and will be expected to teach and/or provide clinical care.

Associate Professor:

A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent

Completion in CODA accredited Advanced Dental Residency Program

Eligibility for a Colorado dental license

At this rank applicants will be well qualified to teach and/or provide clinical care with considerable demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated leadership and service.

Professor:

A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent

Completion in CODA accredited Advanced Dental Residency Program

Eligibility for a Colorado dental license

At this rank applicants will demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in teaching and/or providing clinical care a record of leadership and a meritorious leadership and service record.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have academic healthcare experience at a dental school and a demonstrated commitment to working in a collaborative and multi-cultural environment; and must be committed to the highest standards of inclusive ethical and professional conduct.

Demonstrated previous teaching and research experience

Demonstrated leadership organizational and communication skills

A masters and/or Ph.D. degree

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Assistant Professor: $225000 $324000

Associate Professor: $325000 - $374000

Professor: $375000 $400000

*Practice Incentive Earnings are not included in the starting salary range compensation. They are additive based on clinical activity and can represent a significant increase in annual compensation.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
