Mortgage Loan Officer Inside Sales

Job Summary
The Inside Sales Mortgage Loan Officer reviews and originates mortgage loan applications and takes the necessary steps to protect the collateral assets of Wings Credit Union as well as proactively solicits new residential mortgage loans while meeting established loan quality and production goals.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews and originates mortgage loan applications via all channels; online phone in person.
- Supports inquires and loan applications from our retail branches.
- Responds to borrower inquiries and referrals.
- Obtains required documentation from prospective borrowers to analyze applicant income credit assets & property.
- Interviews prospective borrowers to understand their goals and align that with the best loan products to fit their needs.
- Educates borrowers on the loan products process and what to expect.
- Works with processing team to ensure that all required file documentation is complete and accurate.
- Utilizes automated underwriting system (DU) as an underwriting tool to interpret and ensure loan files meet investor and Wings Financial lending requirements.
- Responsible to know and understand all state specific lending requirements for those states that Wings Financial offers financing. Including attorney requirements and community property laws.
- Skilled knowledge of products policies procedures & secondary market and credit union guidelines.
- Effectively communicates and coordinates with member realtor underwriter processor and closer to ensure closing dates are met.
- Engages in educational opportunities reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks.
- Meets or exceeds by achieving related individual/department/corporate goals.
- Adheres to QC standards identified within the performance plan.
- Ensures exceptional customer service by having a thorough knowledge of lending programs policies procedures along with investor and regulatory requirements.
- Supports night weekend & holiday coverage as needed.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- 3 years of Mortgage Loan Origination experience required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communicative skills; written and oral.
- Possess successful sales skills and strategy.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Working knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Excel; Word)
Certifications Required:
- Required to obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan originator (MLO) unique qualifier (NMLS registration number). Must have the ability to successfully completed all MLO Registry requirements including passing background and credit checks and submitting to fingerprinting and to any other requirements of the rules enacted pursuant to the S.A.F.E. Act. required.
Additional Information :
Pay Range: $32-$36/hour (S14) plus monthly incentives and annual bonus.
Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience specific skills and competencies education certifications location and internal pay equity.
