Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: Waco TX
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Part-Time 32 hours/week (4x8)
Shift: Day Shift (8-hour shifts)
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support rehabilitation services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist in delivering therapeutic interventions to help patients improve mobility strength and overall functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities to patients
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and families on exercises and rehabilitation techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to treatment protocols
- Assist with mobility training transfers and use of assistive devices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
Patient Population
- Rehabilitation patients (may include orthopedic geriatric and post-acute care populations)
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
- Strong patient care and communication skills
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required
- Active PTA license required (State of Texas)
