Inner West Council is hosting traineeships with GTO Ability Advocates Australia to recruit trainees within multiple areas of Council core business as part of the Inclusive Traineeship Program 2026.
This is a paid 12-month traineeship designed for people with disability who are looking to start or restart their career in a structured supportive office environment.

What is the Administrationtraineeship
Kickstart your career in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with Inner West Council. This hands-on role lets you earn while you learn gaining valuable skills while completing a Certificate III in Surveying and Spatial Information Services in our GIS team. Over the next 12 months youll be part of a fully supported program that blends on-the-job training with online learning. Youll be part of the mapping spatial data team delivering high-quality analytical and operational support while building valuable skills for your future. Guided by a clear training plan youll work towards key competencies complete assessments and track your progress as you grow your career.

Make a meaningful impact by supporting the GIS team of Inner West this role you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of efficient effective and innovative GIS support services to Council.

Some of the required skills experience and qualifications
- Willingness and interest in attaining a Certificate III in Surveying and Spatial Information Services
- Commitment to undertake and complete all required tasks
- Display initiative and innovative GIS approaches to problem diagnosis resolution and work-flow improvement utilising high level of communication numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively to the public co-workers and management.
