Job Summary
Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Syracuse NY 13215
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Schedule:
- Shift: Night (11:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: 5x8
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Required
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and clinical operations by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated sterilized and maintained. This role is essential to maintaining infection control standards and ensuring patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination disinfection cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays
- Assemble and prepare instrument sets for operating room and clinical use
- Operate sterilization equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and damage
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of sterilization processes
- Support operating room and clinical teams with timely instrument availability
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS AHA) certification
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
