Job Title: Histology Technician
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Work Schedule: Night Shift 5x8 Hours (11:00 PM 8:30 AM)
- Workdays: Saturday through Thursday
Location: Santa Rosa CA
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Histology Technician to support laboratory operations in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong grossing experience and a solid background in hospital-based histology services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tissue processing embedding sectioning and staining
- Conduct grossing of specimens (required)
- Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens
- Maintain laboratory equipment and quality control standards
- Follow all safety infection control and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of histology experience (required)
- Grossing experience required (mandatory)
- Prior hospital experience required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
Licensure & Certifications:
- State license preferred (if applicable)
- Pending license accepted
