Job Summary
Currently we are seeking a Project Specialist 3 for one of our clients that is a leading multination corporation.
Position: Project Specialist 3
Location: Pomona CA 91768 (Hybrid 2 days/week)
Duration: 18 months (possible extension)
Description:
Responsible for user liaison system specifications systems design analysis and project control. May also interact with Analysts and Programmers through implementation phases and occasionally assist in programming effort. Provide key link between ultimate user and computing resource. Typically posses eight or more years experience. Plans organizes coordinates promotes facilitates and executes all events sponsored by the Vice Presidents Office. Coordinates and effectively oversees multiple assignments; prioritizes and meets deadlines set by managers; anticipates the needs of each event/project and completes event/project on schedule as assigned. Coordinates and participates in the planning of campus-wide events held on campus and other locations in the community. Coordinates with vendors campus community and key stakeholders regarding all logistical needs for events. Trains assigns duties and provides lead oversight for special projects under the direction of the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition and COO. Performs administrative and technical support responsibilities for the Vice Presidents Office encompassing full range of complex specialized sensitive and highly confidential responsibilities. Prepares reports memorandum and correspondence; and files confidential documentation. Leads and oversees training to temporary staff and student assistants. Other duties as assigned.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload:
Scheduling Substation Programs projects (100 150 ) projects each under $25M) with some level of complexity Able to document delays in order to provide time impact analysis
Required to develop schedules and incorporate schedules already in use for some parts of each project
Expert at master integrated schedules work breakdown structures (WBS) and calculating earned values
Direct involvement in tasks necessary for successful project execution. Identifies problems and solutions. Collaborates to establish project objectives timelines risk analysis milestones and deliverables.
Utilizes project controls in exercising schedule management forecasting performance monitoring such as variance analysis maintaining schedules and project plans identifying trends and assessing performance against schedule targets. Organized and drives actions to resolve issues immediately or bring them to PM for action. Effective communicator is essential; data gathering will include many groups and contractors
Able to travel to job sites on as-needed basis (generally less than once per month)
Required Skills/Attributes:
Proficient in Primavera P6 7 years experience in scheduling and capital projects/construction Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint Teams SharePoint Visio) and SAP Education: Bachelors degree in engineering data science construction management business finance or project management or a combination of education training and experience equivalent to a 4-year college
