Job Summary
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage incoming quality control: verify HR coil dimensions surface quality edge condition weight
and supplier test certificates against order specifications. Define accept/reject criteria.
Establish and enforce in-process quality checkpoints: pickling surface cleanliness rolling thickness
tolerance and shape annealing hardness and microstructure skin pass roughness and elongation
slitting/CTL dimensional accuracy and edge quality.
Own final product quality assurance: ensure every FG coil/sheet is tested inspected and released
against customer specifications before dispatch. No material to leave without QA clearance.
Manage the metallurgical and mechanical testing laboratory: tensile testing (YS UTS El% r-value
n-value) hardness testing (HRB HV) surface roughness measurement (Ra) microstructure
examination coating thickness (if applicable) and chemical analysis verification.
Ensure test certificate accuracy and traceability: every TC must link to actual tested samples
traceable to specific coils. No copy-paste or estimated values.
Own customer complaint management: receive log investigate and respond to all quality
complaints within defined timelines. Conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA for every
complaint.
Reduce customer rejections and returns: track rejection % and returns tonnage. Analyse by defect
type customer and process stage. Drive systematic elimination of top defect categories.
Establish quality standards and SOPs for every process stage including acceptance criteria
sampling plans and test methods.
Conduct internal quality audits: process audits product audits and system audits. Present findings
to Plant Head with corrective actions.
Monitor supplier/vendor quality: track HR coil supplier quality performance raise supplier corrective
actions and participate in supplier audit/evaluation.

recurring quality issues.
Own calibration management: ensure all measuring instruments and testing equipment are
calibrated per schedule with valid certificates.
Maintain quality documentation: quality plans control plans FMEA inspection records non-
conformance reports and quality MIS.
Support customer audits and technical discussions: represent the plant's quality capability to OEM
and Tier-1 customers. Present quality data confidently.
Drive quality consciousness in production: train operators on quality parameters involve production
in defect analysis and build 'quality at source' culture.
