The Custodian plays a vital role in supporting the life of the parish by ensuring the church property and facilities are maintained in a clean safe and welcoming condition that enables worship rental use community activities and parish ministries to Custodian ensures that the church property and its facilities are maintained in a welcoming clean and safe condition that property systems and other components are maintained cost-effectively in optimum working order and that any problems with the property or facilities are promptly reported to the Parish Corporation and/or Property Committee ResponsibilitiesRentalsCalculate rates based on details fulfillmentMeet renters in advance of events to show them the room the tables and chairs; discuss layout of furniture provide cleaning instructions explain waste disposal system answer other logistical as contact person the renter can call in case of any problems or an cleaning as needed : e.g. sweep/vacuum/mop; wash after external (paid) rentals as required: this may take place beyond regularly scheduled and/or pick up cleaning waste disposal and paper supplies as managementCollect and separate garbage and recycling from washrooms hall and garbage and recycling waste to the curb on Sunday from curb clean and if necessary wash all garbage and recycling containers and return them to their -upLockup: Sunday and Monday as well as any evening when the custodians presence is required for rentals/cleaning support. Custodian will be the backup person for the lockup contractor as the Wardens Incumbent and Parish Administrator as soon as possible of any serious matters and provide advice for resolution if PreparationPrepare rooms (arranging chairs tables etc.) for committees group meetings and other Church gatherings as all areas after use and returning space to the normal compliance with fire regulations by: conducting regular inspections of the premises for potential fire hazards; testing emergency lighting; ensuring clear access to all stairways exits and fire and test all smoke alarms and replace all fire extinguishers and initial their maintenance & repairsUndertake minor maintenance and repairs as they planned minor maintenance and cosmetic a running record of all repairs & Communications Reports to the Parishs coordination with Parish Administrator and Property Committee in Property Committee meetings.
