Job Summary
Join a dynamic talented group of rehabilitation professionals! The Mount Sinai Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance is seeking a creative hardworking and caring individual for a full-time SCI Outreach Program Coordinator. Candidate will have the opportunity to interact with individuals with spinal cord injury in both our inpatient and outpatient SCI programs.
Responsibilities
Develop and conduct outreach for SCI patients & families to support community integration
Meet with new SCI inpatients bedside
Develop coordinate and implement SCI Peer Mentor Program
Develop coordinate and implement Life Challenge Adventure Program
Oversee virtual SCI group programs
Liaison to various SCI groups within NYC including the New York Chapter of the United Spinal Cord Injury Association the Christopher Reeve Foundation (peer support team) and Wheeling Forward
Attend weekly outpatient Do-It! meetings & meet with SCI outpatients in the therapy gym & SCI clinic
Support SCI patients during their transition from inpatient to outpatient to the community
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year work-related experience.
