Your future duties and responsibilities:

Role Summary
The RF Optimization & Performance Engineer will work closely with RF Planning Field Optimization and Performance teams to design optimize and fine tune LTE and 5G (NR) networks.
End to end RF optimization combining KPI performance analysis drive test evaluation RF design vendor specific tuning and technical documentation to ensure superior network quality and user experience.
Require deep hands on expertise in RAN environments strong understanding of 3GPP features and expert level RF planning and optimization skills.

Key Responsibilities
RF Optimization & Performance Engineering
Work closely with RF Planning and Performance Optimization teams to fine tune network parameters and improve overall RAN KPIs.
Analyze drive test data (TEMS NEMO) OSS counters and KPI trends to identify network performance gaps.
Troubleshoot and resolve RF issues including:
oCoverage gaps and weak signal areas Overshooting and dominance issues Inter cell and intra cell interference Handover failures and mobility degradation Throughput and latency degradation
Perform optimization for Accessibility Retainability Mobility Integrity and Throughput KPIs.


Perform RF design parameter tuning and optimization within RAN environments.
Demonstrate deep understanding of vendor specific parameters features and algorithms aligned with 3GPP standards.
Utilize OSS tools (NetAct MantaRay) and ENM/AMOS for:
oPerformance diagnostics Feature validation Root cause analysis

RF Design & Planning
RF planning and design activities for LTE and 5G networks including:
oSite configuration and cell parameter planning Propagation modeling and coverage simulations
Mentum Planet (Planet) as the primary tool for:
oRF design and optimization Coverage capacity and interference analysis Propagation model calibration
Antenna configuration including:
oAntenna type and specification selection Tilt (electrical and mechanical) optimization Massive MIMO planning and beamforming considerations

Technical Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain comprehensive RF engineering documentation including:
oRF Design Specifications (RFDS) RTWP analysis and interference reports MIMO configuration and beamforming strategy documentation Antenna specifications and RF design rationale
Provide optimization reports feasibility studies and performance improvement plans to internal and external stakeholders.
Present findings and recommendations to planning teams operations teams and management.

LTE / 5G Feature Optimization
Perform optimization and design activities for:
oLTE & NR PHY MAC and RRC layers Massive MIMO and beamforming Carrier Aggregation and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) VoLTE and VoNR design and performance optimization
Support 5G NSA and SA architectures including:
oEN DC performance optimization NR mobility and throughput tuning
Apply interference mitigation techniques and advanced mobility strategies.


Technical Skills
Expert level proficiency in Mentum Planet (Planet) for RF design and propagation modeling.
Strong knowledge of:
oLTE & NR PHY / MAC / RRC layers
oMassive MIMO and beamforming principles
oCarrier Aggregation DSS VoLTE and VoNR
oInterference analysis and mitigation techniques
Hands on experience with:
oOSS/NMS tools ( NetAct ENM/AMOS)
oDrive test tools (TEMS NEMO)
Solid understanding of RAN counters parameters and KPI behavior.

Soft Skills
Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate across cross functional teams.
Stakeholder management and reporting proficiency.

Preferred / Additional Skills
Experience in multi technology (LTE 5G) network environments
Exposure to feature trials new technology introduction and SW upgrades
Knowledge of SON/CSON or automation based optimization is an advantage

Experience
3 to 7 years of hands on experience in RF planning and optimization for LTE and 5G networks.
Mandatory experience with RAN platforms.
Proven experience in RF design parameter optimization and performance tuning.
