Job Summary
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-calibre Finance Business Partner to support a complex production and manufacturing environment. This role requires a hands-on detail-oriented finance professional with deep experience in production costing raw materials inventory valuation and ERP costing modules.The successful candidate will partner closely with production operations and executive leadership acting as the key financial interface across the full manufacturing lifecyclefrom raw materials through to finished goods.
This is a high-visibility role for a commercially astute finance professional who is comfortable being on the factory floor understands production realities and can translate operational activity into clear actionable financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the financial business partner to production and manufacturing teams
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the end-to-end production process from raw materials to finished goods
- Own and manage production costing including:
- Bill of materials (BOMs)
- Standard vs actual costing
- Cost of production and variance analysis
- Yield wastage and efficiency analysis
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation stock evaluation and reconciliation across:
- Raw materials
- Work-in-progress (WIP)
- Finished goods
- Support pricing and margin analysis to enable informed commercial decision-making
- Translate production data into meaningful financial insights for management
- Actively engage with operations on the floor to identify cost drivers inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities
- Ensure strong integration between production activity and accounting outputs (raw WIP finished goods accounting)
- Lead and develop a small finance team (34 direct reports)
- Ensure integrity and effective use of the ERP costing module including data accuracy and system discipline
- Support budgeting forecasting and monthly reporting with a strong cost and production focus
Minimum Requirements
- Degree (Honours strongly preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience at management level including people management
- Proven experience in a production/manufacturing environment (non-negotiable)
- Strong background in:
- Production costing
- Raw material costing
- Inventory and stock valuation
- Cost of production accounting
- Hands-on experience working with ERP systems specifically costing and inventory modules
- Strong understanding of how production processes integrate with accounting systems
- High attention to detail and a naturally analytical mindset
- Willingness to be present on the production floor and engage operationally
