Your New Role and Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer is accountable under general direction to design implement sustain and optimise enterprise endpoint configuration management capabilities based on Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (MECM).
The role supports Defence and large enterprise programs by delivering secure compliant and reliable endpoint management solutions in accordance with approved architectures security policies and governance frameworks.
The Systems Engineer operates with limited supervision applying sound engineering judgement to complex problems and contributing across project delivery and operational sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineer administer and maintain enterprisescale MECM solutions in line with approved designs and technology roadmaps delivering endpoint configuration management outcomes including application deployment operating system deployment (OSD) patch management and compliance enforcement.
Develop test and maintain application packages task sequences collections deployment workflows driver repositories and build standards and manage Windows endpoint patching (servers).
Configure and sustain Software Update Points (SUPs) Automatic Deployment Rules (ADRs) maintenance windows configuration baselines compliance controls and remediation actions in accordance with organisational patching security and assurance requirements.
Perform technical investigation and resolution of MECMrelated issues affecting clients site systems and content distribution and contribute to system integration verification validation and acceptance activities.
Produce and maintain technical documentation engineering artefacts and standard operating procedures; develop and maintain PowerShellbased automation for deployment monitoring and reporting; and collaborate effectively with project managers architects security teams and service operations.
About You and What Youll Bring
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology Engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft MECM in Defence or largeenterprise environments with knowledge of modern endpoint management practices and exposure to Microsoft Intune and CoManagement concepts.
Strong technical knowledge of Windows client operating systems Active Directory and Group Policy and experience delivering patching and compliance outcomes in regulated environments.
Experience with application packaging and deployment technologies including MSI MSIX and scripted installers supported by workinglevel PowerShell scripting capability.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams supported by strong written and verbal communication skills.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV-1 level security clearance and be willing to uplift to NV-2.
