Position Description

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a 3-year limited term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing July 1st 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in the Earth Sciences. Candidates will have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and experiential learning. The ideal candidate should have a background in solid earth geosciences and capacity to teach across a broad range of Earth and Environmental Science courses in the department. Courses may include introductory Earth Science structural geology metamorphic petrology geochemistry and advanced field methods.
