Location: Middle Tennessee (Davidson Robertson and Sumner counties)

What Youll Do
  • Conduct audits of state and local governmental entities in accordance with professional auditing standards.
  • Examine and review records reports financial statements and management practices.
  • Evaluate financial statement presentation internal controls compliance and operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Produce clear logical and well-supported workpapers and data analyses.
  • Communicate clearly with auditees coworkers elected officials and stakeholders.
  • Take initiative seek continuous improvement and contribute to a collaborative team culture.


What Were Looking For
Required:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration with at least 24 semester hours in accounting
  • Ability to learn quickly think critically problem solve and produce accurate work
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work tactfully with coworkers auditees and stakeholders
  • Sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
Preferred:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (not required but strongly encouraged for advancement)
  • Experience in auditing governmental accounting or related fields

Logistics
Travel: For Local Government Auditors travel is required but is generally confined to same day commutes to and from a job site. Overnight stays may be required as necessary.
