State Lead Specialist Support (Indianapolis IN Onsite)
Job Details:
Job Title: State Lead Specialist Support Location: 2 N Meridian St Indianapolis IN (Onsite In person only) Duration: 04/17/2026 12/31/2026 (Initial 6 months possible extension)
Job Overview:
The selected candidate will support the State Lead Specialist and later manage a regional district (20 40 counties). The role focuses on monitoring and managing cases of children with elevated blood lead levels (EBLL) ensuring proper case management compliance and coordination with local health departments and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Track and monitor EBLL cases in the state system (NBS) to ensure timely case management
Coordinate with local health departments to ensure compliance with required timelines
Collaborate with program managers and data analysts to identify trends and emerging issues
Support case investigations and ensure necessary inspections are assigned
Provide guidance and updates on lead regulations and program changes
Communicate with families physicians and public health personnel regarding case follow-ups
Conduct periodic travel to assigned counties for stakeholder meetings
Assist in reviewing program documentation guidance and grant applications
Present updates at public health meetings and trainings
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Adobe and webinar/conference tools
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple cases across various regions simultaneously
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders
Highly Desired:
2 years of experience in:
Case management
Communication with families healthcare professionals or public health staff
Knowledge of lead-related regulations (410 IAC 29) and healthy homes programs
Education:
Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Additional Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain HIPAA compliance
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to travel within assigned district as needed
Interest in public health and environmental safety (lead exposure prevention)
Work Environment:
Office-based role with regular phone/video communication
Interaction with state agencies healthcare professionals and families
Requires strong attention to detail and ability to manage high case volumes
