About the role:

The position of Clinical Research Geneticist (Clinical Genomics) involves the provision of high-quality clinical and translational research within the Centre for Applied Medical Research and St Vincents Clinical Genomics. As a resource for assigned research and clinical projects the Clinical Research Geneticist (Clinical Genomics) is required to case manage patients undergoing care within a research or clinical project manage project specific resources ensure intervention and data collection is in compliance with the Protocol International Conference on harmonization Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) Australian regulations and privacy laws.

The Clinical Research Geneticist (Clinical Genomics) will work as part of a research and clinical team to improve access to research investment for patients and the institution through high quality translational research/clinical practice and data management.

Selection Criteria:

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincents Health Australia.
  • Possess or be eligible to possess specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Possess FRACP or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists State Award.
  • Possess or be eligible to possess HGSA Clinical Geneticist Certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge skills and high standards of clinical genomics practice commensurate with experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team and operating in an integrated environment with a commitment to the implementation of best practice and clinical service innovation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching at speciality registrar junior medical officer and undergraduate levels.
  • Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development dissemination and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment.
