Job Summary
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Companys only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified experienced and reliable Superintendent - Process Operations to optimize plant production requirements with utilization and throughput being obtained and metallurgical targets met by use of sound operating practices standard operating procedures and personnel working in a safe and efficient manner to ensure all are sustainable on a daily basis. This role reports to the Manager - Process.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Prepare production plans to ensure that the processing plant is operating according to metallurgical guidelines or given set of operating parameters
- Ensure minimal operational downtime by proper execution of shutdown plans and take immediate action to correct at risk conditions that could cause plant shutdown
- Coordinates mechanical electrical personnel equipment utilization with the maintenance electrical and technical personnel to maximize equipment availability and utilization
- Leads and coordinates with the Training and Metallurgical teams in developing competency-based assessment modules
- Prepare reports and briefs on production safety environment project progress and more
- Liaises with the Metallurgical Superintendent on a day-today basis to ensure that production objectives are met
- Track actual cost and compare against that of the budget
- Lead the team commitment in achieving incident and injury free environment and ensure compliance with HSE performance standards objectives and regulations
- Develop and nurture OurSafe Behaviour safety culture within the team
- Ensures direct reports are properly trained and systems are in place to ensure safety

Educational Background:
- College Graduate of 4 to 5 Years
- Mining Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering Graduate will be
- regarded
Work Experience and Background:
- Minimum of ten (12) years Mineral Processing Plant experience with at least five (7) years supervisory experience.
- Exposure to Crushing Grinding Flotation Dewatering Filtration Water Treatment Gravity Concentration Gold room and Distributed
- Control System is essential
- Previous experience within a performance-based culture would be an advantage
- Excellent planning organizing prioritization capabilities and
budgeting. - Able to mentor supervisory team members.
- Results-oriented and ability to consistently deliver against plans.
- Display a high degree of safety and environmental awareness and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Previous manpower process and project management experience is
essential. - High level computer skills
Specialization/License:
- Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering License or Metallurgical Plant
- Foreman license is an advantage is highly regarded.
- Valid LTO Drivers License.
Others:
- Satisfactory results from the prescribed medical examination and psychological appraisal which may indicate fitness and ability to carry out prescribed tasks to required performance and safety standards.
