Job Summary:
The Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor is responsible for delivering accurate and timely quantity take-offs cost estimates and measurement outputs across multiple projects. The role will be to support the GCC business remotely playing a key part in ensuring consistency quality and efficiency in measurement processes while supporting project teams with project delivery.
The position also contributes to mentoring junior staff improving workflows and maintaining high standards of measurement accuracy in line with company and industry best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Measurement & Quantity Take-Offs
Lead the measurement team to quantify MEP works such as pipes ducts cables equipment etc. using 2D/3D drawings.
Prepare detailed and accurate quantity take-offs from drawings specifications and 3D models.
Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in line with project requirements and standards.
Ensure all measurements comply with recognised measurement standards and methodologies.
Drafting and issuing RFIs.
Carrying out design reviews to assist in the formulation of provisional sums.
Carrying out detailed MEP specifications review to assist in identifying scope gaps and design parameter conflicts.
Cost Estimation & Analysis
Assist in preparing cost estimates budgets and tender documents.
Analyse project drawings and specifications to identify cost risks and opportunities.
Support cost and measurement exercises to optimize project costs.
Assists with upkeep of the technical library including cost data benchmarks and maintenance of the various cost database.
Quality Assurance
Review and verify measurement outputs for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure consistency of data across multiple projects and teams.
Follow established processes templates and quality standards.
Team Support & Mentorship
Guide and mentor junior quantity surveyors and measurement staff.
Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
Assist in training new team members on systems and procedures.
Systems & Process Improvement
Utilise digital measurement tools and QS software effectively.
Contribute to improving measurement workflows and efficiency.
Support implementation of new technologies such as BIM-based measurement.
Qualifications :
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
National Board Passer with a valid and active professional license.
Minimum of 10 years proven experience in MEP Quantity Surveying.
Extensive experience in MEP measurement cost planning BOQ preparation tender evaluation and final account settlement.
Strong knowledge of recognised measurement standards (e.g. NRM POMI SMM or equivalent).
Advanced proficiency in QS and measurement software (e.g. CostX Revit Navisworks BIM-based measurement tools).
Sound understanding of MEP systems design installation methodologies value engineering and cost control.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams coordinate with consultants and contractors and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Must be willing to work fixed night shift and hybrid set-up; 3 days onsite per week
