Synechron is seeking an experienced Murex Datamart Reporting Engineer to lead support operations for critical financial reporting systems. The role involves managing both Level 2 and Level 3 support teams resolving complex incidents and ensuring the high availability accuracy and integrity of Murex Datamart and associated reports including P&L Market Valuations Accounting and Risk reports. The ideal candidate will bring extensive domain knowledge technical expertise in SQL and scripting and strong leadership skills to support a high-performance environment that drives operational stability data accuracy and timely reporting for business decision-making.
Software Requirements
Required:
Deep experience supporting Murex (version 3.1 or higher) particularly in production environments focused on reports and Datamart modules
Strong SQL proficiency for data querying troubleshooting and validation
Shell scripting skills (Bash/sh) for automation and issue diagnosis
Use of incident management tools such as ServiceNow or JIRA for issue tracking and reporting
Familiarity with report data structures specific to P&L Market Valuations Accounting and Risk
Preferred:
Experience with other reporting or BI tools such as Tableau Power BI or QlikView
Knowledge of Data Warehousing architecture and concepts
Basic scripting skills in Python or Perl for automation and interface management
Exposure to cloud data hosting or cloud-based reporting systems
Overall Responsibilities
Oversee and support the operation of Murex Datamart reports and related modules ensuring continuous availability and data accuracy
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for incidents perform root cause analysis and drive issue resolution to minimize system downtime
Monitor report generation data extraction reconciliation processes and interface functions ensuring timely and correct delivery of financial data
Collaborate with business stakeholders data teams and system support teams to resolve data discrepancies and address reporting issues
Support system upgrades patches and configuration changes impacting reporting modules and ensure robust deployment practices
Document system configurations incident resolutions and support workflows for continual process improvement
Lead problem-resolution initiatives including system tuning automation opportunities and stability enhancements
Manage support shift rotations (24x5/7 or 24x7) ensuring rapid escalation and stakeholder communication during incidents
Drive ongoing improvements in report accuracy data quality operational reliability and automation processes

Reporting & Data Analysis (Essential):
Extensive experience supporting Murex Datamart and related report workflows
SQL query development troubleshooting and validation in financial data environments
Deep understanding of report structures such as P&L market valuation accounting and risk data flows
Scripting & Automation (Essential):
Shell scripting (Bash/sh) for automation issue diagnosis and process automation
Experience automating routine checks data validation and incident workflows
Databases & Data Management (Essential):
Relational database management data querying validation and reconciliation techniques
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and architecture
Support Tools & Incident Management (Essential):
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow JIRA or similar incident management platforms
Additional & Cloud (Preferred):
Exposure to cloud data hosting solutions or cloud reporting tools
Familiarity with Python or Perl scripting for automation tasks
Understanding of cloud infrastructure components underpinning data environments
Experience Requirements
Over 10 years supporting Murex production environments with a focus on Datamart and reporting modules
Proven expertise resolving complex report issues data discrepancies and interface failures under high-pressure conditions
Demonstrated leadership in managing or supporting Level 2 and Level 3 support teams
Support experience in environments requiring high availability and strict operational SLAs
Industry experience within financial services particularly in trading risk or accounting functions is preferred
Alternative pathways include extensive scripting data support and operational experience supporting financial reporting activities even with fewer years of direct Murex support if the candidate demonstrates equivalent expertise
Day-to-Day Activities
Monitor system dashboards logs and reports for anomalies or failures
Troubleshoot and resolve report data issues interface failures and system errors in real-time
Lead incident investigations perform root cause analysis and document resolutions
Collaborate with business units and technical teams to clarify reporting requirements and resolve discrepancies
Support deployment activities system upgrades patches and configuration changes
Automate routine support tasks batch jobs and data validation workflows to increase efficiency
Maintain comprehensive documentation including runbooks incident reports and best practices
Conduct shift handovers incident reviews and continuous improvement sessions to enhance operational support processes
Proactively identify areas for process improvement automation and stability enhancements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Finance Data Management or a related field
Deep expertise in SQL scripting (Shell Python Perl) and report troubleshooting within financial systems
Extensive knowledge of financial data flows including P&L market valuation and risk reporting
Support experience in high-availability environments with strict SLAs and regulatory oversight
Willingness to support shift work including nights weekends or holidays as required
