Our supply chain is vertically integrated spanning direct farmer sourcing regional aggregation multi-commodity storage in-house processing across 10 lines centralized quality assurance and outbound distribution. The Supply Chain Operations Manager is the connective tissue holding this entire system together.

Job overview

We are seeking an experienced analytically sharp Supply Chain Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end supply chain activities across the Group. This role ensures raw material availability production continuity efficient warehousing and reliable finished goods delivery all within a complex multi-line agro-industrial environment.

Tasks

Key responsibilities

PRODUCTION PLANNING & SCHEDULING ALIGNMENT

• Translate the Groups seasonal production plan into executable supply chain schedules across all 10 lines
• Work directly with the Manufacturing & Production Council to align raw material inflows with line activation and production sequencing
• Anticipate seasonal transitions and ensure smooth handoffs between high-intensity and low-intensity production periods
• Flag supply constraints or demand signals that require production plan adjustments

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT & BUFFER STRATEGY

• Design and maintain inventory policies for raw materials semi-processed intermediates and finished goods across all product categories
• Manage strategic buffer stocks for seasonal and long-distance commodities (grains oilseeds dried vegetables herbs) to decouple production from harvest timing
• Apply FIFO rotation moisture management and periodic quality inspection protocols across dry and ambient storage
• Optimize inventory levels continuously preventing both production-halting stockouts and cash-locking overstocks
• Track and report inventory positions turnover rates and ageing stock across all warehouses

WAREHOUSING & STORAGE OPERATIONS

• Oversee warehousing operations for raw materials packaging intermediates and finished goods
• Ensure appropriate storage conditions across dry ambient and temperature-sensitive product categories
• Manage internal material movement and intra-facility logistics across the plant
• Maintain hygienic storage standards aligned with GMP HACCP and food safety requirements
• Coordinate warehouse capacity planning in line with seasonal production peaks and batch sizes

LOGISTICS & TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT

• Manage inbound logistics for raw material deliveries including scheduling route optimization and carrier performance
• Oversee outbound distribution of finished goods through owned logistics assets and third-party providers
• Optimize transport for bulk commodity inflows consolidation load planning and cost-efficient haulage from distant sourcing zones
• Manage logistics for export-bound consignments where applicable including documentation and compliance requirements
• Monitor and reduce transit losses handling damage and logistics delays across the network

DEMAND PLANNING & COMMERCIAL ALIGNMENT

• Collaborate with the commercial team to translate sales forecasts and distribution plans into actionable supply schedules
• Balance finished goods production output against market absorption capacity to prevent overstocking and supply gaps
• Coordinate distributor and key account fulfilment schedules with production and warehouse teams
• Support export shipment planning with accurate lead time forecasting and inventory positioning

SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE & REPORTING

• Implement and manage supply chain KPIs including fill rates inventory turnover on-time delivery and waste rates
• Build and maintain supply chain reporting dashboards for senior leadership visibility
• Identify performance gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain
• Support progressive ERP/MRP integration for real-time inventory and production visibility

FOOD SAFETY QUALITY & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

• Ensure supply chain operations comply with GMP HACCP NAFDAC SON and applicable export standards
• Coordinate with QA and laboratory teams on raw material acceptance in-transit quality management and finished goods release
• Maintain full traceability documentation from raw material intake to finished goods dispatch
• Support audit readiness across all warehousing and logistics touchpoints

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

• Work closely with Procurement on raw material forecasting supplier lead times and buffer replenishment
• Coordinate with Finance on working capital management inventory valuation and cost reporting
• Serve as the operational bridge between production procurement commercial and quality teams

Requirements

Qualifications & requirements

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Engineering Business Administration or a related field
• Professional certification (APICS CSCP CILT or equivalent) is an advantage
• Minimum 510 years experience in supply chain or operations management
• Experience in food beverage agro-processing or FMCG manufacturing is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-commodity or multi-product supply chains
• Knowledge of ERP or inventory management systems is a significant advantage
• Familiarity with Nigerian agricultural commodity supply chains and logistics infrastructure

Skills & competencies

• Strong analytical and planning skills. Able to manage complexity across multiple product lines simultaneously
• Sound understanding of inventory management principles seasonal buffering and demand-supply balancing
• Working knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance requirements (GMP HACCP NAFDAC)
• Effective cross-functional communicator. Able to translate supply chain data into decisions for production commercial and finance teams
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting discipline
• Comfortable in a fast-paced systems-driven manufacturing environment with high operational stakes
