We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to join the groups DevOps team specifically focused on the Goods Receipt & Yard Management product.

This critical role oversees two sub-products: administrative and physical goods receipts and the steering of inbound traffic.

As a functional expert you will bridge the gap between organizational strategy and operational execution ensuring that software solutions are not only delivered but continuously optimized for global production stability.

Strategic Product Leadership: Manage a clearly defined product scope including development operation and continuous improvement of IT solutions.

Agile Backlog Mastery: Continuously prioritize and maintain a product backlog aligned with customer requirements and global organizational goals.

Global Collaboration: Partner with business and IT Product Owners across various countries (e.g. DE UK MX) to align product direction.

Product / Team Context:

The GROUP IT Hub South Africa provides essential IT solutions to the global group with a focus on innovation topics like SAP Cloud and Azure.

This specific role within the Goods Receipt & Yard Management product requires a leader who can influence change and reach buy-in across complex cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 10 years of experience in IT or an IT degree and/or relevant professional qualification.
• Demonstrable experience in Sub Product or Product Owner roles.
• Proven track record in agile delivery and stakeholder management.
• Hands-on experience or deep understanding of software development and DevOps practices.

Essential Skills & Technologies:

• Backlog Management: Strong ability to prioritize and maintain a backlog with clear Definition of Done and acceptance criteria.
• Resource Allocation: Experience distributing resources across feature teams to maximize customer value and meet strategic objectives.
• Technical Leadership: Ability to guide feature teams and serve as the technical point of contact for Product Owners and Line Managers.
• Agile/DevOps Mindset: Hands-on experience supporting agile working models and improving team efficiency.
• Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with global business and IT partners.

Advantageous Skills:

• Interface experience with SAP systems.
• Knowledge of SAP Warehouse/Logistic Processes (SAP EWM/WM).
• Familiarity with Jira for backlog and issue management.
• German Language Skills (Speak Read Write).
• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a clearly defined product scope including development operation and continuous improvement of
• software or IT solutions.
• Continuously prioritise and maintain the product backlog aligned with customer requirements market trends
• and organisational goals.
• Ensure backlog items are well-defined with clear acceptance criteria and a definition of done.
• Evaluate developed product scope and decide on release or rework based on defined criteria.
• Distribute resources across feature teams to maximise customer value and meet strategic objectives.
• Guide and support technical teams serving as the technical point of contact for Product Owners and Line Managers.
• Collaborate with Group AG business and IT Product Owners and cross-country colleagues to align product
• direction.
• Monitor team progress ensure timely completion of user stories and escalate Sub Product risks as needed.
• Forecast and plan for resources infrastructure and licences in coordination with Product Owner and Line
• Manager.
• Support operational stability troubleshoot and optimise processes to maintain production quality.
• Support internal change processes and further develop IT-relevant processes and agile working models.
