Job Summary

The incumbent will provide strategic and operational leadership for regulatory compliance Quality Control Orders
(QCOs) and mandatory product certifications across the organizations electrical and electronic product portfolio.
This role is pivotal in ensuring uninterrupted market access sustained BIS licensing proactive regulatory readiness and
strong representation in national standardization and policy forums. The position demands deep expertise in Indian and
international standards hands-on regulatory liaison with Government authorities and the ability to influence standards
formulation while embedding a robust compliance-driven quality culture within the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Regulatory & QCO Leadership
Lead end-to-end compliance with Quality Control Orders (QCOs) notified by the Government of India for
applicable product categories.
Track interpret and assess regulatory notifications amendments and enforcement mechanisms issued
by:
o Ministry of Consumer Affairs
o Ministry of Heavy Industries
o Ministry of Power
o BIS and other statutory bodies
2. Product Certification & BIS Compliance
Lead BIS licensing and certification activities including:
o Standard Mark (ISI) licenses
o Certificate of Conformity (CoC)
o CRS and other mandatory certification schemes
Ensure timely grant renewal extension and scope expansion of BIS licenses across product lines.
Oversee product testing sample selection documentation factory audits and surveillance audits.

3. Compliance Management & Governance
Conduct detailed gap assessments against QCO BIS IECWPC and applicable Indian standards.
Drive cross-functional action plans to close compliance gaps in design manufacturing testing sourcing
and documentation.

4. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
Sensitize and align internal stakeholders including:
o R&D and Design Engineering
o Manufacturing and Quality Assurance
o Supply Chain and Vendor Management
o Sales Marketing and Customer Support.
Coordinate with external agencies labs certification bodies and consultants as required.
5. External Representation & Standards Influence
Represent the organization at national and industry forums including:
o Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) technical committees.
o IEEMA CII and other industry associations
Actively contribute to Indian Standards formulation revision and harmonization with IEC standards.
Provide technical and industry inputs during QCO drafting stakeholder consultations and policy
discussions.

6. Government & Ministry Liaison
Maintain active and effective liaison with:
o BIS officials
o Ministry and Government departments
o Regulatory and enforcement authorities
Support clarifications representations and advocacy on regulatory interpretations impacting business
continuity.
Represent organizational and industry perspectives with credibility integrity and technical authority.
7. Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
Strengthen regulatory compliance as an integral part of the organizations quality management system.
Promote prevention-based quality practices robust root cause analysis and continual improvement.
Ensure sustained compliance culture across plants products and suppliers.

Qualifications Role-Specific Knowledge and Experience
Qualification:
Full time Bachelors / Masters degree in Engineering (preferred: Electrical / Mechanical).
Experience:
20 years of progressive experience in
- Product standardization and certification
- BIS licensing QCO compliance and regulatory quality roles
- Manufacturing organizations in electrical/electronic products
Proven exposure across product categories including (but not limited to):
- Wiring Devices i.e Switches Sockets Fan Regulators
- Low- and Medium-Voltage Switchgear
- Electrical Installation Rules
- Cables and Cable Trays Cable trunking systems
- Electronics UPS and IT Products - IoT Products Video Door Phone
- Flush Boxes (Metal) Surface Boxes Distribution Boards and EV Charging Boxes
- Lamp Holders Switched Sockets Industrial Plugs and Sockets
- Busbar Trucking Systems
Minimum 10 years of active participation in Indian Standardization Committees (BIS / sectional / technical
committees)
Strong hands-on experience in liaising with Ministries BIS and Government officials on regulatory and
certification matters
Technical & Regulatory Expertise
In-depth knowledge of:
- Indian Standards (IS) IEC standards and conformity assessment systems
- QCO framework enforcement mechanisms and regulatory compliance models
- BIS certification schemes audits surveillance and license management
Demonstrated capability in interpreting and applying complex regulatory requirements to real-world
manufacturing environments
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership and building diverse high-performing teams.
