Job Summary:

An opportunity has arisen to join the M&A team at Repsol Renewables based in Houston. The Analyst role plays a key part in supporting the senior investment professionals in the firm. The core pillar of the role is to support investment transactions across the renewables business. They will support business development with fast focused analysis and judge the right level of detail required for each addition the Analyst will produce insightful analysis and produce clear concise data for management reporting.

Key Stakeholders:

  • Senior Team M&A Repsol Renewables North America.

  • CEO North America Renewables.

  • Other Functional and Corporate Departments especially the Legal Team Tax Team Finance Team & the Technical Team.

  • External parties such as banks and investment funds and other external advisers involved in a due diligence process.

Key responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Prepare analysis for the acquisition/divestment of renewable energy projects based on project-specific characteristics and assumptions.

  • Collaborate in the periodic valuation of the Renewables portfolio including updating analysis for the latest assumptions and running sensitivity analysis.

  • Assist in the preparation of investment committee presentations for new opportunities.

  • Preparingdue diligence questions for company management and external advisors and assist in the preparation of all internal and external due diligence reports.

  • M&A Data room management support in investment/divestment processes.

  • Analyze and compare investment opportunities utilizing discounted cash flow and multiples-based analyses.

  • Review and assist in the negotiation of investment legal documentation (NDAs SPAs SHAs etc.).

  • Liaise with external advisers and intermediaries to execute M&A projects

  • Initial quantitative and qualitative appraisal of transactions to establish whether sectors countries and specific deals are worth pursuing.

  • Researchand analysis ofindustry information technical and financial data.

Person specification:

The ideal candidate will have an academic background in Mathematics Economics Engineering Finance or similar degrees. The role requires a proactive inquisitive and flexible mindset. You will be part of a dynamic young team and will be given a great deal of responsibility and opportunity to develop your career over time.

Desired qualifications and personal attributes include:

  • Strong academic background.

  • 1 - 3 years of M&A financial analysis experience preferred.

  • Demonstrable execution and M&A experience in Renewable Energy Infrastructure or M&A department (either a Bank IPP utility or any other type of investor).

  • Financial Modelling Skills.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (including Excel Word and PowerPoint).

  • Specific experience in the US renewable market.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent analytical skills.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset proactive and flexible.

  • Practical and commercial approach.

  • Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities.

  • Team player able to thrive in a cross-cultural environment.

  • Familiarity with Project Finance structures and process is a plus.

  • Experience in Corporate Finance / Accountancy is desirable.
