This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

The CBCs Social and Digital Content Marketing team is looking for an experienced and innovative social media marketer to help cultivate deeper connections with Canadians on our social channels.

Your role

The ideal candidate is a rare mix of creative visionary and disciplined strategistsomeone who understands the cultural power of a meme just as well as the logic of a spreadsheet. Rather than waiting for direction you possess an intuitive grasp of the digital space and take the initiative to elevate our content and refine our systems. Even in the whirlwind of a fast-paced media environment your reputation is built on staying organized and calm under pressure. You bring a deep-seated passion for CBCs mission and a mastery of how to engage audiences on the airwaves and online.

Reporting to the Social Marketing Manager and working with the larger team of producers and art directors you will plan research and execute social media marketing strategies in support of CBC programming and brand campaigns through digital platforms with a specific focus on engaging audiences on Instagram TikTok and YouTube. Responsibilities include:

  • Research develop and execute social media campaigns to drive engagement and foster growth across the CBC social channels on Instagram TikTok and YouTube.

  • Manage influencer campaigns from outreach to creative review and reporting.

  • Optimize the teams content calendar and work with both internal and external stakeholders to bring the best of CBC content to social platforms.

  • Curate organize write package and publish content on social platforms.

  • Leads community engagement efforts to foster meaningful interactions and growth of our digital audience.

  • Along with the team and marketing partners develops and implements strategies to engage new audiences create tailored online experiences and explore social media strategies for emerging platforms.

  • Report on campaigns and always-on content performance.

  • Pitch social content ideas and provide meaningful feedback on social content produced by team members and stakeholders.

  • Occasional travel and work on evenings and weekends.

Skills and experience for success in this role:

  • Diploma or certificate in Communications Public Relations or Marketing (specifically digital and social media) or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

  • Minimum of five years of working in digital or social media marketing with direct experience demonstrating superior writing and presentation skills.

  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to translate complex social analytics into actionable insights that optimize future creative and content strategy.

  • A proven ability to stay calm and organized while managing multiple projects simultaneously under the pressure of tight deadlines.

  • Active and engaged on multiple digital platforms such as Instagram TikTok and YouTube; ability to recognize content opportunities is vital.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with top influencers.

  • Experience leading community management for brand social accounts.

  • Knowledge of and affinity for CBC programming and brand.
