Position Summary: The Director of Retention and Attendance Supports leads and isaccountable for the implementation and performance of district initiatives designed to improvestudent attendance engagement and retention outcomes. This role leads the coordination andexecution of attendance and retention systems and ensures consistent effective implementation across Tulsa Public in partnership with internal departments and school leaders this position supports district efforts related to enrollment stability family engagement and student experience. TheDirector provides recommendations performance data and key insights to leadership tosupport informed decision-making and continuous improvement. This role is responsible fordriving measurable outcomes in attendance and retention while supporting alignment withrelated recruitment and family engagement efforts through cross-functional coordination anddata-informed practices.
Key Functions: Attendance and Retention Systems Ownership and Implementation Cross-Functional Coordination and Alignment Data Monitoring Reporting and Performance Accountability Family Engagement and Recruitment Support Alignment Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in education student services programmanagement communications or a related field Experience leading or managing initiatives related to student engagement attendanceretention or recruitment preferred Experience working in a large urban school district preferred
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Oklahoma drivers license required Valid Oklahoma teaching or administrative certificate preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of student attendance engagement retention andenrollment-related practices Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with school-based staff Ability to influence and support stakeholders without direct authority Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong organizational and time management skills Knowledge of evidence-based practices for improving student attendance andengagement Proficiency with data systems and reporting tools used in K12 settings Ability to lead cross-functional projects and coordinate diverse teams
