Job Description

The International Settlements Team Lead provides leadership and operational oversight for a team responsible for the clearance and the settlement of securities. It requires critical thinking strong attention to detail ability to work in a time sensitive environment and the ability to think outside of the box.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

5 years of demonstrated expertise in Settlements or relevant Financial Services experience.

2 years of Team Leader / People Management experience including developing highperforming teams and guiding staff through complex operational and regulatory environments.

Demonstrated deep expertise and comprehensive understanding of Trade Settlements in Global markets including identifying and resolving breaks.

Detailed knowledge of product types such as Equities Bonds ACATs Balance Orders Prime and Stock loan.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences such as Contra-Brokers internal teams and clients.

Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast paced customer focused environment.

Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement

Innovative mindset look for new ways to improve current processes and develop creative solutions.

The ability to identify investigate and escalate high risk items.

Lead projects in the development of technology solutions and represent the department on projects led by business partners.

The Purpose of Your Role

Act as a critical member of the International Settlements Leadership Team shaping departmental strategy and driving initiatives that improve operations and client experience.

Provide expertise oversight and lead issue resolution across settlement processes focusing on pre and postsettlement discrepancies.

Identify operational risks ensure all processes have sufficient controls and that internal processes are accurately followed and any high-risk items detected are promptly escalated.

Accountable for ensuring client requests are processed within stated service level agreements and adhere to guidelines.

Liaise with our custodian daily to resolve issues relating to market changes trade issues and corporate actions.

Lead coach and empower associates supporting Settlement Operations

Conduct regular 1:1s performance discussions and talent development planning.

Promote an inclusive high engagement team culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.

Set clear measurable objectives and success criteria for team members.

Provide timely balanced and constructive feedback. Support continuous learning through coaching mentoring and development plans.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and team growth encouraging innovation skill development and operational excellence across all sites.

Participate in high visibility OSG Fidelity Wealth and Fidelity-wide projects and initiatives.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

The International Settlements Team is a part of Operations and Services Group (OSG) a division of Fidelity Wealth. The Ireland International Settlements team supports over 40 markets and 20 currencies globally performing various functions and addressing any issues related to the clearance and the settlement of securities such as Settlement Processing Client Service and TOA processing.
