Building Physics Consultant

A well-established and forward-thinking multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Building Physics Consultant to join their Manchester team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative environment where sustainability and building performance are at the core of project delivery offering exposure to a wide range of sectors and technically challenging developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver building performance modelling and analysis across a range of projects
- Carry out dynamic simulation modelling to inform design decisions
- Support Part L compliance and energy strategies
- Undertake overheating assessments (TM52 / TM59 / Part O)
- Contribute to operational energy modelling (TM54)
- Produce technical reports and sustainability documentation
- Liaise with architects engineers and clients
- Support the integration of low and zero carbon technologies
- Ensure project delivery meets quality standards and deadlines
Technical Expertise
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
- IES VE (essential)
- SBEM for Part L compliance
- Dynamic simulation modelling
- Daylight and thermal comfort analysis
- Understanding of UK Building Regulations and guidance
About the Candidate
- Degree qualified in Building Physics Environmental Engineering or similar
- Experience in a building physics or sustainability consultancy role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and client-facing abilities
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
- Passion for sustainability and low-carbon design
