Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and clinical operations by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated sterilized and maintained. This role plays a critical part in infection prevention and patient safety within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and safety protocols
Disassemble clean and reassemble complex surgical instruments
Assemble and package instrument trays according to established guidelines
Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves and washer disinfectors
Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and damage
Maintain accurate sterilization records and instrument tracking logs
Document missing or damaged instruments in accordance with SOPs
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of instruments and supplies
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sterilization equipment
Ensure compliance with infection control standards and ANSI/AAMI guidelines
Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment
Communicate effectively with surgical teams and support staff
Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Certifications & Licensure
Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CIS)
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience
Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile processing workflows
Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to follow SOPs and detailed work instructions accurately
Strong communication and teamwork skills
