Hours: Part time weekends Saturday - Sunday 7:30am - 6pm.

Job Summary: The Physical Therapy Assistant II serves as a primary clinician in the inpatient and outpatient setting under the direction of a licensed physical therapist. This role involves performing treatments for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions in keeping with the patients individualized plan of care established by a licensed physical therapist monitoring the patients response to therapy or treatment recognizing regression or progression and reporting pertinent information to the appropriate staff. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and ensuring high-quality care in alignment with established standards. Primary duties and responsibilities: Patient Care & Treatment: 1. Conducts comprehensive treatment for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions in accordance with established goals. 2. Monitors patients response to therapy or treatment; recognizes regression or progression in relationship to goals and reports pertinent information to the appropriate staff. 3. Make suggestions for modification of the individualized care treatment plan in accordance with established goals. 4. Demonstrates advanced clinical competency in a specific area of patient care. 5. Educate patients and their families in a manner tailored to their needs. 6. Ensures daily practices align with established patient care standards. 7. Recommends appropriate equipment for patient care. 8. Assists other staff in resolving patient care problems. Collaboration & Communication: 1. Communicates effectively with patients families and the healthcare team. 2. Participates in patient care discussions and identifies alternate methods of treatment to achieve patientÂs needs. 3. Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to enhance patient care. 4. Works cooperatively with other team members to maintain a positive and results-oriented work environment. 5. Responds to requests for professional information or advice referring complex matters to appropriate personnel. 6. Participates in quality assurance activities. 7. Supervise and mentor support staff as appropriate. Operational Responsibilities: 1. Plans treatment schedules for optimal staff and equipment use. 2. Maintains productivity while adhering to quality standards. 3. Monitors and ensures compliance with infection control and sterile technique protocols. 4. Documents patient care details and records service charges accurately. 5. Assists with inventory equipment maintenance and work area organization. 6. Serves as a Clinical instructor for Physical Therapy Assistant students. 7. Assists with Peer Reviews. 8. Assists with new staff Orientation. 9. Assists department in maintaining a clear and accurate interdisciplinary and interdepartmental information flow. Professional Development & Compliance: 1. Attends relevant educational in-services and professional activities to stay current on industry practices. 2. Works with the Leader to develop a professional growth plan. 3. Delegates tasks effectively as appropriate. 4. Adheres to all applicable policies protocols and regulations. 5. Contributes to the professional community and community at large. 6. Participate in departmental committees addressing patient care related matters or other committees as requested by the department. 7. Participates in product/ equipment evaluation and selection. 8. Highly encouraged to attend one professional Local State or National PT conference every two years. Additional Duties as Assigned. Travel: Less than 10% of the time may be required. Work Type: Hybrid employee - divides time between working remotely and working in the office. Minimum Required Qualifications: Education: Graduation from a Physical Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. Experience: One year of clinical experience as a physical therapy assistant. Licensure: A valid unencumbered Physical Therapy Assistant License approved by Georgia Board of Physical Therapy. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Knowledge skills and abilities (required): This role requires an initiative-taking approach in developing innovative solutions to improve processes enhance patient satisfaction and streamline communication across diverse teams. Preferred Qualifications Education: College Degree in related field. Experience: Two years of clinical experience as a physical therapy assistant. Knowledge skills and ability requirements (preferred): Membership in professional organization preferred. This role should have excel skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs. 0-33% of the work day (occasionally) Lifting 25 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking Occasional sitting Close eye work (computers typing reading writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation Shift work Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment including respirators and environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
