Accounts Payable Assistant

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented accounting professional to play a meaningful role in supporting the daily operations of Avenues New York. As the Accounts Payable Assistant you will help ensure the smooth and timely processing of all payments while contributing to a finance function that is efficient responsive and continuously improving.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Own the preparation and execution of bi-weekly payment runs processing high volumes of invoices with accuracy and efficiency while ensuring proper coding approvals and timely payment in compliance with internal controls.
• Maintain and manage vendor records including onboarding new vendors and ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant
• Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders responding to inquiries and resolving payment-related issues with a strong customer service approach
• Support month-end close by reconciling accounts payable balances and assisting with reporting and audit requests
• Continuously improve accounts payable processes by leveraging systems and technology to increase efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications :

• You have relevant work experience preferably in finance and/or accounting. 
• You have a customer service mindset that doesnt quit - youre always there to help solve problems and make the way forward clear.
• You are highly attuned to the smallest details
• You are highly resourceful & creative able to get around obstacles and achieve goals.
• You have a track record of working successfully independently as well as working alongside a number of  your colleagues.
• You are energized by working with data and excel at analyzing interpreting and drawing insights that help inform decisions and improve processes.

Additional Information :

If hired for this position the annual salary range for this position is between $55000-$75000. The salary may vary depending on your professional experience and skills.
