Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Compliance Manager to manage endtoend payroll operations for India ensuring accuracy timeliness and complete statutory compliance. The role requires strong working knowledge of Indian payroll labour laws statutory filings audits and employee taxation along with the ability to collaborate closely with HR Finance and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Manage endtoend monthly payroll processing for India employees
- Ensure 99% payroll accuracy and timely salary disbursement
- Validate payroll inputs including new joiners exits attendance LOP reimbursements and variable pay
- Prepare payroll instruction files and review changes with Finance
- Coordinate payroll accounting reconciliation and variance analysis
- Generate payroll reports dashboards and MIS
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure 100% compliance with Indian labour laws including:
- Provident Fund (PF)
- Employee State Insurance (ESI)
- Professional Tax (PT)
- Labour Welfare Fund (LWF)
- Shops & Establishments Act
- Payment of Wages Bonus Gratuity and Minimum Wages
- Manage statutory filings challans returns and inspections
- Stay updated on labour law changes and advise stakeholders accordingly
Audit & Governance
- Handle internal external and statutory payroll audits
- Prepare audit documentation and ensure audit closure with minimal observations
- Strengthen internal controls and payroll governance
Employee Tax & Benefits
- Manage gratuity bonus leave encashment and statutory benefits
- Handle income tax processes including Form 16 TDS and investment declarations
- Resolve employee queries related to payroll tax and statutory matters within SLA timelines
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage payroll vendors and statutory consultants
- Partner with HR Finance Legal and external agencies for smooth operations
Process Improvement
- Drive payroll process automation standardization and efficiency improvements
- Ensure data accuracy and continuous process enhancement
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Indian Payroll & Compliance
- Indepth knowledge of Indian labour laws
- Audit management and compliance reporting
- Payroll accounting and reconciliation
- Vendor management and stakeholder coordination
- High attention to detail and confidentiality
- Proficiency in payroll systems and MS Excel
Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Commerce Finance HR or related field
- Postgraduation or professional certification is an added advantage
