OSBORN SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Title: Social Worker Salary Schedule: OCC/PTA/ST/SOC Pay Schedule Work Year: 10 Months FLSA: Exempt
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and Building Principal the Licensed School Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school and facilitates communication among school home and community providers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is meant to be representative not exhaustive. Some incumbents may not perform all the duties other cases related duties may also be assigned. Mobilize family school and community resources to enable children to learn
Supports the school team to develop behavior assessments and plans
Attend IEP meetings as needed
Conduct classroom observation
Complete home visits for families as needed
Participate in mental health appointments
Provide one on one and small group counseling
Support classrooms with students demonstrating challenging behaviors
Provide crisis intervention
Support students learning of appropriate social skills
Provide staff with a better understanding of cultural societal economic trauma factors impacting children
Performs additional related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and abilities required to satisfactorily perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Knowledge of and Required Skills Restorative Practices Trauma Informed Practices Ability to work with a diverse population Demonstrates sound and practical decision making Ability to work successfully with a team and independently Bilingual preferred
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university required.
Experience in school based social work
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
May occasionally be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
