Job Summary

We are seeking competent detail-oriented and proactive Pharmacy Technicians to support Pharmacists in the daily operations of a fast-paced community pharmacy. The ideal candidates will assist with medication preparation and dispensing inventory management customer service and administrative duties while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Medication Dispensing & Preparation

  • Assist the Pharmacist in the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Count measure package and label medications in accordance with prescriptions.
  • Support medication compounding under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
  • Ensure all dispensing activities comply with pharmacy regulations and safety standards.

2. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels of pharmaceuticals and consumables.
  • Identify and remove expired damaged or short-dated medications.
  • Assist with procurement ordering and restocking processes.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions including temperature and security compliance.

3. Customer & Patient Support

  • Attend to customers professionally and respond promptly to prescription requests.
  • Collect and verify patient information and prescription details.
  • Provide excellent customer service while escalating clinical concerns to the Pharmacist.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and prescription records.

4. Administrative & Record Management

  • Accurately input prescription and patient data into pharmacy management systems.
  • Process payments billing and insurance transactions where applicable.
  • Maintain proper documentation and support daily administrative operations.
  • Assist in ensuring smooth workflow across pharmacy operations.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all regulatory ethical and operational pharmacy standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness organization and safety of the pharmacy environment.
  • Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with Pharmacists and other team members to maintain high service standards.

  • Inventory Accuracy: 97%
  • Prescription Processing Time: Within standard timelines
  • Compliance Adherence: 100%
  • Stock Management Efficiency: Minimal stock discrepancies and expiries

Qualifications & Requirements

  • National Diploma (ND) Pharmacy Technician Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • 2 4 years experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting.
  • Registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of prescription medications OTC drugs and pharmacy operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy management software.
