Recreation Camp Program Leader
Job Summary
The YMCA Child Care division is looking for enthusiastic passionate Recreation Camp Leaders to join our team this summer and create unforgettable experiences for children ages 512.
In this role youll lead engaging action-packed days filled with sports games swimming and creative activities while building meaningful connections with campers. Youll help foster a positive inclusive environment where every child feels welcome supported and excited to participate.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in childcare education or coaching to gain hands-on experience support childrens development and build valuable teamwork skills.
Our Child Care Team is supportive energetic and growing! Flexible weekday shifts are available Monday to Friday between 8:00 am5:00 pm there are Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available for this role. This seasonal role is perfect for making a meaningful impact this summer.

- Assist with implementing program plans and leading daily activities in line with YMCA standards and program expectations tailored to the program theme and age of participants
- Foster healthy meaningful relationships and provide a welcoming place to belong for children families and colleagues
- Actively engage with children ages 5-12 as a play partner including joining in on sports swimming and other physical activities
- Support play-based educational programming including interactive play literacy mathematics science building drama games and team-building activities
- Ensure the safety of all members participants staff and property
- Lead high-quality program planning that reflects the YMCAs values
- Maintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
- Participate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives
