Childrens Services Internship Program
Education-Focused Internships (Fall/Winter)
Our Childrens Services Department is seeking motivated compassionate and dedicated interns for the Fall/Winter term who are pursuing careers in education and therapeutic services. Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting children with diverse developmental educational and therapeutic needs while working alongside licensed and certified professionals.
Interns gain meaningful hands-on experience in a dynamic childrens services environment while learning directly from dedicated experienced professionals through ongoing supervision and mentorship. The internship provides valuable exposure to evidence-based educational and therapeutic practices and offers a pathway to fulfill academic internship or fieldwork requirements while building professional skills and confidence for future careers.
Early Childhood Education Intern
Eligibility
- Enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction for young children
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and engaging learning activities
- Promote childrens social emotional and developmental growth
- Observe and support individualized learning plans
Special Education Intern (Pre-K4)
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a Special Education Pre-K4 program
Key Responsibilities
- Assist special education teachers in inclusive and specialized classrooms
- Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Help implement instructional and behavioral strategies
- Observe assessments and progress monitoring
Occupational Therapy / Physical Therapy Intern (OT/PT)
Eligibility
- Enrolled in an accredited OT or PT program recognized by:
- Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
- Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed therapists during therapy sessions
- Support therapeutic activities and exercises
- Help document progress and prepare therapy materials
- Observe evaluations and treatment planning
Speech & Language Pathology Intern
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a Speech-Language Pathology program
Key Responsibilities
- Support speech and language therapy sessions
- Assist with data collection and documentation
- Prepare therapy materials and activities
- Observe assessments and intervention strategies
General Internship Requirements
Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication skills and professionalism
Commitment to supporting children and families
