Job Summary
Overview:
Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. (Create Job Requisition Event) The Community Outreach Specialist will maintain a regular and visible presence along Parsons Avenue and conducts street outreach with individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness provides people with support and connection to resources needed engages with local nonprofits and businesses and conducts regular litter pick-up and general clean-up of the Parsons Avenue corridor.

Essential Functions:
- Develops outreach strategies to engage with target audiences.
- Collaborates with team members to create outreach materials.
- Conducts outreach activities to promote programs or services.
- Supports target population in connecting to available programs or services.
- Analyzes outreach data to measure effectiveness of campaigns.
- Builds relationships with community partners to expand outreach efforts.
- Represents the organization at events to increase visibility and awareness.
Education Requirement:
Bachelors Degree in a health or social services related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Licensure Requirement:
Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
Skills:
- Proficiency with written summaries and documentation.
- Working knowledge of child health care and community issues.
- Proficiency personal computers databases and word processing software.
- Effective customer service verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with contacts.
- Ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds.
Experience:
- Two years of experience in a community-based setting in areas such as health care social service or community service required.
- Experience in collaborative program development preferred.
