Role Frontend Developer joining our Team Communication where youll own the messaging experience for millions of users across the Nordics.
Tech stack Primarily React JavaScript /TypeScript Lit/Web Components and WebSockets Kubernetes Github Actions Miro. (Bonus points for Java/Kotlin & Kafka!)

Location Join us in our Oslo or Stockholm office with the flexibility to work 3 days per week remotely!

WHO ARE YOU

• You bring hands-on versatile experience in frontend development from complex technical environments
• You are a master of JavaScript/TypeScript and React but youre also excited to work with Lit/Web Components WebSockets and our Podium micro-frontend framework Vite TanStack Query (React Query) Vitest and Cypress.
• While the role is front-end heavy you have the technical curiosity to peek under the hood at the backend (Java/Kotlin) to understand how data flows through the entire inbox system.
• You have an investigative approach to tools like Claude or GitHub Copilot: you actively look for ways to automate the routine parts of maintenance and suggest innovative ways AI can enhance our products and applications.
• Youre an adaptable cross-border communicator in English: Because our team is split between Oslo and Stockholm and represents many nationalities clear and thoughtful English is your primary work language.
• You are self-driven and solution-oriented and dont wait for a perfectly groomed Jira ticket to make a move. Youre the one spotting the gaps between our web and app experiences and taking the initiative to map out a solution rather than just maintaining the status quo.

WHATS THE JOB LIKE
As our new Frontend Developer youre joining Team Communication the squad that builds and maintains the messaging infrastructure for our top Nordic brands: FINN Blocket Tori and DBA. Youre part of providing a secure and seamless chat experience for buyers and sellers within each of these marketplaces.

Our mission is to ensure millions of users connect negotiate and close deals without friction. We are currently in an exciting phase reshaping and scaling our product portfolio to meet the growing business needs from professional sellers on the platform.

You focus mainly on

• Scaling for Business: Together with the team you will build sophisticated frontend interfaces that handle high-volume communication and professional-grade features.
• The Web-to-App Bridge: Working hand-in-hand with our Stockholm-based designer and iOS/Android developers you map the gaps between our platforms. Your goal is to ensure that a user having a conversation using the app has the same high-quality experience when they switch to the web.
• Pioneering AI Workflows: You help the team find the sweet spot for Claude and other AI integrations both to enhance the messaging product itself and to optimize our own developer velocity.
• Collaborative Engineering: You are part of a 9-person cross-functional squad. You spend your week in close sync with your managers and a tight-knit group of developers covering frontend backend and apps. We value shared ownership meaning you have a seat at the table for product discovery not just execution.

Hi I am Mari Halvorsen Engineering Manager for Team Communication.

Coming from a developer background myself I believe in giving my team the space to experiment and participate in decision-making. I strive to lead with empathy and giving trust in return for ownership and accountability.

Our team is currently 9 people (a mix of introverts extroverts and many nationalities). We put well-being as priority number one. We work hard but we also make sure to have fun with digital game sessions and regular cross-country visits. I value honesty flexibility and a healthy work-life balance above all else.
