Job Summary
Shangri-La Chengdu located in downtown Chengdu the hotel overlooks the scenic Jinjiang River ancient Lang Bridget and He Jiang Pavilion. Next to the Lan Kwai Fong and Bar Street various restaurants and bars are within walking distance.
The hotel is only 2km from Chengdu International Finance Square (IFS) and Taikoo Li about 4.5km from Wuhou Temple and Jinli Street Wide and Narrow Street and Dufu Thatched Cottage and 11.5km from Chengdu Panda Base.
We are currently looking for a Assistant Director of Events:
As a Director of Sales and Marketing We rely on you to:
- Oversees the day to day sales efforts and is responsible for the overall positioning of the hotel brand communication and the development of customers for the entire hotel operation including but not limited to: Rooms Events F&B outlets and Spa.
- Be responsible for all hotel Marketing functions the relationship and coordination between the hotel Marketing Division and Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts Corporate Marketing team and to maximize total hotel revenue market share and optimize profit returns.
- Develops implements and keeps current the Marketing Plan Director of Sales Marketing Manual Events Management Process Manual and Distribution & Reservations Manual.
- Guides and plans hotel revenue budget particularly in Rooms and Catering revenue and ensures accurate business and financial forecast to direct future Sales and Marketing strategies and activities.
- Maintains awareness of current and future competitors product pricing (on-line and off-line) and marketing programs so as to be in a position to proactively respond to market conditions.
- Be responsible for effective implementation and compliance of all corporate standards
We are looking for someone who has:

- Excellent presenter and communicator
- Is self-driven goal-oriented able to challenge the status quo
- Upholds professional values ethics and integrity at all times
- Thinks outside of the box whilst leading change in the hotel
- Preferably has a Bachelors degree or relevant experience in a similar role
- Understands the global market and local environment
- Communicates and writes with fluency in English (as well as the local language)
- Has strong interpersonal skills and people management.
