Job Summary:
The Database Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the modernization strategy focusing on migrating products to the Azure Cloud platform and improving existing processes for both cloud (IaaS and PaaS) and on-premise environments. This role involves managing SQL Server databases Azure Synapse Analytics and ensuring the performance security and availability of database systems. The DBA will also provide technical guidance participate in problem resolution and contribute to the long-term technical strategy for data warehousing and analytics.

This role involves managing SQL Server databases Azure Synapse Analytics and ensuring the performance security and availability of database systems. The DBA will also provide technical guidance participate in problem resolution and contribute to the long-term technical strategy for data warehousing and analytics.

Responsibilities:
- Support the installation configuration security operation and maintenance of SQL Servers with a focus on SQL Managed Instance.
- Develop execute and analyze database expansions reorganizations and purging of SQL 2019.
- Participate in the long-term technical strategy and architecture for the Data Warehouse and Analytics Data Hub.
- Develop systems and processes to monitor data quality and integrity diagnose problems and implement solutions.
- Provide expertise in supporting complex cross-platform database migrations and data governance activities.
- Manage SQL databases on Azure Cloud SQL Always-On and Clustering.
- Provide knowledge and direction to support a hybrid environment of on-premise and cloud-based database environments.
- Configure manage monitor and maintain database server performance health availability and security.
- Participate in problem analysis and resolution including tuning SQL queries resolving deadlocks and addressing data problems.
- Perform software review evaluation recommendations design and implementation for database management tools.
- Lead database disaster recovery design implementation and monitoring.
- Manage patching and database backup including testing and execution of SQL and Oracle database backup and recovery processes.
- Provide guidance and reference to Tier 1 and Tier 2 Service Desk resources as well as Tier 3 team members.
- Proactively monitor systems activity on a daily basis and respond to issues.
- Plan long-range needs for SQL database administration.
- Develop and execute SQL database verification processes on a regular basis and analysis of database capacity statistics.
- Provide technical and operational guidance and leadership to business representatives.
- Responsible for the architecture and support of all databases development testing.
- Responsible for execution of SQL database backup and recovery processes.
- Participation in problem analysis and resolution for example deadlocks data problems access times application recoveries etc.
