IAM Backend Engineer

We are looking for an IAM Backend Engineer with hands-on ForgeRock 7.5 and Java backend experience to join a team in Toronto. You will deliver backend enhancements to support a modern decoupled UI-driven login experience built on a secure authentication architecture.

What youll do

• Design and implement backend changes to support decoupled UI architecture and updated authentication workflows
• Enable backend-driven error handling validation logic and UI response handling
• Enhance and maintain ForgeRock modules in line with the proposed solution design
• Integrate backend services with token-based authentication mechanisms
• Write and maintain unit test cases and perform static and dynamic security scans
• Manage configuration changes for build and deployment pipelines
• Support application deployments across development staging and production environments
• Implement and improve logging monitoring and audit logging capabilities
• Maintain technical documentation including Swagger and OpenAPI specs design documents and release notes
• Provide knowledge transfer and operational handover to the DevOps team

What you bring

• Strong hands-on experience with ForgeRock Identity Platform 7.5
• Solid Java backend development skills
• Experience with token-based authentication and modern authentication platforms
• Familiarity with SPA frameworks and state management compatibility
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment support across multiple environments
• Strong documentation skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Experience implementing push notification-based authentication with resend capability
• Familiarity with SMS OTP authentication flows

Work setup

• 6 month contract based in Toronto ON
• Hybrid with 2 to 3 days onsite per week based on client requirement
