Senior Backend Java Developer (Spring Boot) Banking
Location: Toronto ON (Hybrid 4 days onsite)
Contract: 6 months (Potential Extension)

Were seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer with 10 years of experience to support the expansion of a large-scale Open Banking platform for a leading financial institution.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in cloud-native environments and enjoys driving technical excellence mentoring team members and building secure scalable solutions.
Required Experience:
- 10 years of hands-on Java development experience including Spring Boot
- Strong expertise with PostgreSQL MongoDB and Redis
- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications on GCP using Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation experience
- REST API design and development expertise
- Strong understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles
- Experience with security scanning vulnerability remediation and secure coding practices
- Ability to provide technical leadership code reviews and mentorship
Nice to Have:

- Agile delivery experience
- Experience with modern JavaScript technologies including TypeScript and Jest
