Job Summary

The opportunity: Reporting to the IT Manager the IT Specialist serves as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and plays a key role inmaintainingoptimizing and securing the YMCA of Simcoe Muskokas IT role provides advanced technical support leads system improvements supports enterprise-wide technology initiativesandIT operations across all Association IT Specialist will provide technical support to staff while also contributing to long-term infrastructure planning cybersecurity initiatives and overall systems this role you will: Demonstratestrong supportand commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and the YMCA in CanadaDemonstrate strong commitment to serving membership facility users and program participantsEnsure adherence to all relevant provincial and federal legislationAct as the escalation point for complex support ticketsfrom the IT Help DeskPerform advanced troubleshooting across desktop server network and cloud environments paymentsystemsand related root cause analysis for recurring system issuesOversee and monitor IT ticket queues to ensure service levelobjectivesare metProvide advanced support for Microsoft 365 Azure Active Directory Exchange SharePoint and TeamsSupport and troubleshoot VoIP systemsfirewallappliances switches and wireless infrastructureAdminister andmaintainserver environments (on-premiseand cloud)Maintain Active Directory group policies user lifecycle management and permissions governanceMaintain and secure internet connectivityfirewallconfigurations and network monitoring toolsEnsure data integrity security and compliance with industry best practicesAssistin developing and enforcing cybersecurity policies and standardsMonitor security alerts and respond to incidents in collaboration withtheIT Team andIT ManagerSupport PCI compliance initiatives and industry security standardsExercise strong judgment related to data privacy and securityCo-lead implementation ofnew technologyinitiativesParticipate in infrastructure upgrades system migrations and cloud adoption projectsDevelop and implement technical solutions with minimal supervisionTroubleshootwith vendors and third-party(ISPs)service providersEvaluate and recommend system improvements and emerging technologiesWork independently with minimal supervisionDevelop andmaintaintechnical documentation SOPs and knowledge base articlesImprove IT service workflows and support processesMaintain licensing records hardware inventory and asset management systemsProvide technical training and mentorship tothe IT Help DeskstaffProvide advanced troubleshooting for product installations and configurationsConfigure and deploy computers peripherals and mobile devices across locationsProvide guidance and instruction on proper use of hardware and software applicationsSupport cellular device management and MDM platformsPerform other IT Systems and support duties asrequiredYou bring:Post-Secondary education in IT Computer Science or related fieldMCSE and CCNA or other related certifications are an asset.5 years progressive experience in IT support systems administration or infrastructure rolesExperience serving as Tier 2 escalation or senior technical resourceStrong knowledge of:Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online SharePoint Teams)Azure Active Directory / Entra IDWindows Server environmentsNetwork infrastructure (switchingfirewall wireless systems)Endpoint security and reporting toolsFamiliar withPowerShell scripting and automationExperience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planningFamiliarity with compliance frameworks and security standardsExperience with IT ticketing/service desk systemsExcellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholdersValid Class G drivers license and insured personal vehicleWillingness to participate in mandated training to be completed before or shortly after commencement of work including:AODA TrainingHealth & Safety Awareness TrainingBill 168 (Violence & Harassment in the Workplace) TrainingPCI ComplianceChild Safeguarding OrientationWillingness to be able to work flexible hours based on client needsWhy work for the Y:At the YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka we believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and staff.
