Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Be able to set up troubleshoot and make minor changes to machines.
Monitor quality / complete quality reports.
Process incoming and in-house materials as required.
Organize and maintain the extrusion work area including storage areas for staged and surplus product waiting to be ground.
Maintain a clean and safe work area including the extruder machines and ancillary equipment.
Material handling (cross functional with Grinder position).
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to H & S policies.
Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.
Requirements:
Sound troubleshooting skills with a strong mechanical background.
Should have or be willing to learn knowledge of raw materials production processes quality control costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of machines and tools including designs uses repairs and maintenance.
Must be a Mauser certified forklift operator or be willing and able to achieve certification.
An understanding of the basic concepts of injection molding plastics processing.
Demonstrate a strong sense of product knowledge for BWAY Springhill products and processes.
Comfortable working in a fast pace environment.
Self-motivated; ability to work without supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to details.
Shift flexibility with the ability to work overtime is a requirement ability to work both continental (12 hr) and conventional (8 hr) shifts if required.
