We are currently seeking a highly experienced and business-driven Finance Manager / Chief Accountant to lead the finance function in Poland and act as a key strategic partner to the local and Group leadership teams.
This is a senior leadership position based in Strzegom.
Role Overview
As Finance Manager / Chief Accountant you will hold full responsibility for financial governance compliance and performance of the Polish entity. Acting as a key business partner to the Managing Director and leadership team you will provide strategic financial insight while ensuring alignment with local regulations and Group standards.
In this capacity you will serve as the Chief Accountant within the meaning of the Polish Accounting Act with full accountability for maintaining accounting books in compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and local leadership team providing actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Drive financial performance through robust analysis forecasting and business controlling.
Translate financial data into clear recommendations to support operational and commercial initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with Polish statutory requirements including accounting tax and regulatory reporting.
Oversee the integrity accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and statutory reporting.
Maintain and continuously enhance internal controls ensuring a strong control environment.
Lead all aspects of statutory and management accounting including monthly closing year-end reporting and Group consolidation requirements.
Align local accounting policies and practices with Group standards and guidelines.
Act as the primary point of contact for auditors tax advisors and regulatory authorities.
Lead budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes in close cooperation with Group Finance.
Oversee liquidity management cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.
Manage financial risks including currency exposure credit risk and interest rate fluctuations.
Drive continuous improvement automation and standardization of finance processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance efficiency across accounting reporting and control functions.
Support and lead finance-related projects at both local and Group levels.
Monitor and assess changes in Polish accounting and tax legislation ensuring timely implementation.
Provide expert guidance on accounting tax and financial matters across the organization.
Job requirements
University degree in Economics Finance or Accounting
Proven leadership experience in finance with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong background in finance accounting tax regulations and business controlling.
Experience in an international matrix organization is highly valued.
Manufacturing industry experience is an advantage.
Strong analytical mindset combined with commercial acumen.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Proficiency in ERP systems (M3 or similar) and modern reporting tools (e.g. Qlik Sense).
Advanced skills in Excel and MS Office tools.
Fluent in Polish and English.
